The Everyday IT engineer and its Awareness!!!!

IT is so funny when South Africans can do something and not show it to anybody. Maybe they have their reasons, somebody will steal their skills or their ideas. That’s why the industry is what it is full of hypocrites.

I’m Talking about people scared to publish SOME of their knowledge to the South African web, to make people aware that we do have specialist in the South African IT Industry. Its really sad because we also claim not to have time to do a technical document let alone publish and register a website or blog. We are so skilled in certain environments beside IT but yet there’s no information on the local.southafrica.co.za sites.

For example the latest development of open source is out now but yet people are sceptical and scared about facing new, but yet old technology because Linux for example, was created in the early nineties. And yet nobody knows about it or knows how it works(architecture) and all your current Microsoft engineers has nonsense to say about it, but ask them if Linux has a registry they say yes…that tells me how little they know about Linux. Another instance we can discuss: Lotus Domino has been around for more then 15 years and the IT industry claims that Microsoft exchange is the only/best email collaboration product out there or they compare it to Lotus Domino  which is not really a fair comparison, because:

Lotus Domino is a Database software program like SQL and MySql the advantage is has over the famous database programs is the email collaboration build into the Server. Where by Lotus Notes the client allows you to open a database and your email file from the same interface….what more can i say:

THAT’S WHY WE NEED MORE ENGINEERS IN SOUTH AFRICA TO PUBLISH SOME OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE TO THE WEB.

That way the market will realise and use their discretion when deciding on a new solution for business or pleasure, because information is freely available like in the STATES of OBAMA!!!!

So i am dedicating my Blog for Technolgy usage, technical documents, step by step procedures and much more concerning Linux, Open Source and Lotus Domino / Lotus Notes.
